Hong Kong

Off to Hong Kong . Always great to travel here, I was invited by my good friend Austin Who actually has family members out here. Met up for a couple days and had a great time shooting around the city of Kowloon and Hong Kong island also exploring new areas that I haven’t been to even after traveling here for so many years. Until next time Hong Kong!

Tallest Tower In Japan, Kyoto & Kinkaku-ji Gold Temple + Supreme LV

Started our morning early and caught a train to try and get a raffle ticket for the Louis Vuitton Supreme drop. Unfortunately, we got to the area too late and we also had no idea how the raffle system works in Japan so it didn’t help our chances but we decided to try again the next day.

In the meantime, we decided to grab some food at Eggs ‘n Things in Harajuku. I highly recommend this restaurant if you’re looking for an American-style breakfast. After breakfast, we walked around Harajuku and visited a couple streetwear stores like Bape, Supreme, etc. Later that night, we took a train to Oshiage to visit the Skytree Tower. It is the tallest tower/building in Japan and I recommend visiting the mall and the observation tower to view Tokyo from above.

The next morning, we woke up extra early to try our luck with the LV X SUPREME. Unfortunately, luck wasn’t on our side that day.Had to continue our day on a positive note so we took the bullet train to Kyoto. Once we got to Kyoto, we quickly realized that it was hotter and more humid than how the weather was in Tokyo so it felt like I was in a sauna the whole time. It made the trip less enjoyable; nonetheless, I definitely felt happy to be back in Kyoto.

In Kyoto, we visited the Kinkaku-ji Gold Temple. The temple was breathtaking; It was beautiful to be in the presence of something I only see in photos. On the downside, it was hot as hell so I was probably was hallucinating all of that haha.

After spending some time at the temple, we decided to head back to Shibuya since it will take a couple of hours for us to get back to Tokyo. I’m looking forward to spend a whole day in Kyoto the next time I come visit. We ended our night in Tokyo for some dinner and light shopping.

The following day, we woke up early, as we did the last few days trying to win and purchasing anything from the LV x Supreme drop. At this point, I didn’t think luck would be on our side, as on this particular day, colder weather already wasn’t on our side; It was the hottest morning I’ve ever experienced in Japan. Imagine over 8,000 people waiting in line and waiting 2 hours just for us to get an attempt at it.

THE MOMENT OF TRUTH: It was finally my turn: Me being 0.001% of those 8,000 people waiting in line — me, an African-American visiting Japan, got to hit the iPad which you enter the raffle and WON!!!

I was ecstatic and even though Rolo didn’t win but I was hoping to get him something so we can both leave Japan with a bang. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to purchase anything after I won. The instruction was to come back that night at 6:00 pm but, wait for it……my flight back to the US was that night. “FUCK! What am I going to do?” was exactly what I said in my head. I had to change my flight and get a hotel for an extra night. Rolo had to leave that day so once I got situated in my new hotel for the night, I came back to where I was suppose to show up for purchase and just chilled around the area. 6:00 pm came around and those who won the raffle was able to line up and enter the store one at a time.

Watching all of the releases worldwide, I’m sure Japan had the most people and was the most organized. I can only describe it as something you probably have never seen in a Louis Vuitton store, if you ever been in one.On the wall there was LED monitors displaying LV SUPREME monogram it was definitely a cool experience. All the waiting and waking up early for the last three days of my trip led up to me getting only a hat because everything sold out and they weren’t getting new shipments 😿. At the end of the day, this trip — with the great memories I made being back in Japan — and the experience was worth it.

Japan Osaka

These posts have been long overdue but every week I will be posting new content. This trip was back in 2017 when I went with my friend Rolo back to Japan. It was our second time going together; the first time was the year before but with a bigger group. By now I've been a couple times and knew how to get around. We decided to do new things I've never tried so it was definitely a new experience, luckily he vlogs and I'm just the entertainment. These vlogs means so much just to look back on life and reminisce on that experience. If you would like to view his videos, I will post one below and you can watch the series which I think are great.

We woke up early on our first day and headed to Osaka. We booked a bullet train that takes about four hours from our current location which is in Shibuya, Tokyo. Before getting on the train, he ordered some food at a local spot that we like. Finally after a couple hours on the bullet train, we arrived at Osaka and started to venture around before heading to the Osaka Castle. Making this trip around summertime wasn’t the best idea. It was so hot and humid that we were sweating non-stop which was nasty but we made the best out of it. The castle was beautiful; It was surrounded by water and the views from top was gorgeous. After leaving the castle, we went to the sneaker store, k-Skit, to check out and see if they have anything nice. We didn’t end up getting anything but it was still good to be back. Part 2 tomorrow; Stay tuned.

Japan for the weekend

Took a spontaneous trip to Japan for a couple days to take photos, eat great food and pick up a couple items this was earlier in 2018 never got around to posting it on my blog since I’ve been slacking on posting on a frequent basis. But I’m back now so I should be posting a new blog every week I have so much content that I’m excited to share that’s never been seen.

New York, New York

Big city of dream.

New York in the winter time is magical especially if you go around Christmas time. However, if you go around the time pass the New Years crowd, you will still find yourself having lots of fun. I caught an early morning flight and I left on a sunny day in California and arrived in the snowy season of New York. I love the snow but im not used to it having to live in California all my life. After landing and taking an Uber to Brooklyn, I met up with Altoni and the rest of the family. I put my bags down and went to take some photos. The next day I met up with my boy Basseme; we walked around Brooklyn then went to go eat at Sweet Chicks. Afterwards, we passed by this basketball court which was super dope to me. When we turned around and parked, I seen a son and his father shooting hoops. Definitely had the ball is life vibe. It was really beautiful to see in 20° weather a father and a son having a fun time playing basketball. Before they even got to play basketball, the father and son wipe away the snow on the court with a cardboard box just to shoot around. They also let me use their basketball for a picture aha.

We then headed to Manhattan and took some more photos. Then got dropped off and was shooting around New York for the rest of the night. I ended up getting a DJI Mavic and finishing the night at Hell’s Kitchen with some soul food and watching the Warriors game. Until next time New York.

Japan Day 2

We started off our morning waking up around 6 a.m to get the day started. We stopped by 7/11 to grab some water and some snacks but we ended up buying some cool snacks. (By the way, their 7/11 is 200% times better than the ones in the U.S…its worth the stop every time)
We arrived in Tokyo at night so this is my first time experiencing the city in the daytime. There was some left over snow on the ground and definitely a lot of trash bags out on the street. I guess it was trash day. We walked to the Shibuya Crossing, which was about a 10-minute walk from our Airbnb. We took some photos around Shibuya before hopping on the train. Their transportation system was pretty amazing! It was very crowded and being that we don’t speak any Japanese (Google Translator was our best friend), we were pretty slow at figuring out what to do and how to get on the right train. We all looked lost. Luckily, some of the people that work on the ticket booths speak a bit of English.

Our first stop was Harajuku, which was about a 10-minute train ride from the Shibuya station. We explored some stores but we still haven’t had breakfast so that was our next task. Find breakfast… at least not sushi or ramen.

The restaurant we picked was an Americanized-Hawaiian inspired spot and it was pretty good. We had pancakes with over-the-top toppings, loco mocos, and other typical American breakfast. After venturing around Harajuku, we went to the Meiji Jingu Shrine where they had rows of sake wrapped in straw barrels. Even though it was sunny, the weather felt like it was around 30° and snow was still present. We stopped by Supreme, Undefeated, Atmos, a couple other streetwear stores and sneaker boutiques right after the shrine.
After checking out overpriced sneakers and street wear, we decided to go to the World Trade Center Observatory Deck for sunset. It would probably cost you no more than $7 (620 yen) to get in. It was a beautiful view of the city. We at least spent over an hour just looking at the view and taking pictures. We ended our night checking out the Gundam statue in Tokyo’s Odaiba district and grabbing some Krispy Kreme donuts inside the mall.

P.S The donuts in Japan need some improvement.

Japan Day 1

I haven’t been updating my website in so long! But I need to change that starting with my trip to Japan this is day one not many images but day two will be about five times as much as this post. Anyways back to my journey to Japan. Woke up headed to get some breakfast and airport with Altoni and Sarah once we got to the airport we met up with Eric Rolo and Mindy. I ended up sitting in front of them while they were slightly in the rear of the airplane once we landed we took a train to Shibuya. From there we walked to the Airbnb after getting slightly lost. Once we put our luggage down we left the Airbnb and found a ramen shop. It was basically a machine that you select your entrée off of. Then you give your ticket to the lady we were actually pretty confused and probably looked stupid but ended up figuring it out after somebody else did so then took our seat. I ended up ordering potstickers and they all ordered Ramen looking back at this experience I wish I would’ve ordered Ramen another interesting fact in Japan their eggs are orange I mean extremely orange. In the US there more yellow. After eating we headed around Shibuya to wonder around for the rest of the night. Stay tuned for the next post!

Days in Chicago

Back like I’m 45

(That’s a Jordan reference) Out of all the places I’ve been going this year which I haven’t been actively posting on my website. Chicago has to be the most frequent place I have been this year this has to be the third or fourth time I can’t really even remember now. One day I’m at work and I’m talking to Phillip and he tells me they’re going to Chicago and I was like oh shit! I will not mind going back there since I love Chicago and I have family out there anyways, so I ended up tagging along with everyone it was about 10 of us and this would be the first time traveling with a big group of people like this going to take photos. Definitely will be an interesting trip considering getting on Rooftops and lurking.

Once I landed at the airport I had it to the hostel and met up with everyone there. We immediately got ready and Aaron took us to a rooftop that was pretty close by. For about 15 to 20 minutes we climbed up and got to the top finally. At the top of the building there was water and everyone loves reflection so that took a while aha. We ended up staying up the whole night from when I got there at 10 we lurked around Chicago until the next morning to catch sunrise and also meet up with Chicago Instagramers. It definitely was a long night but fun only complaint I have was it being really cold and feeling like a zombie for sunrise. We over back to the hostel took a nap then met up with everyone to get Shake shack and lurked around the city.

For sunset we went to the Hancock building to 360 Chicago for A beautiful sunset. After that we walked around and went to Nike town and Jordan store. Some of the group went to sleep and some of us stayed around to shoot. The next morning we woke up around five something and headed to the bean to catch sunrise . After that we went to Wildberry which I have been with Altoni so I know this place is good. While everyone else was going to Willis Tower I was trying to find a way to get it for free but the coupon expire so I just took a nap. I am glad I did because the lines were crazy.

Me and Alex overslept but we ended up getting to the airport for them to take helicopter flights over Chicago for sunset and night time I didn’t fly sadly. Once they were done I picked hash house to go go And we all got food comas while watching drunk people go to the hospital very entertaining and slightly pathetic. Once we left the restaurant we went around and took photos downtown and got into some cool places along the way.

Enjoy the photos it’s about 90 of them and there nothing spectacular but more just documenting my trip for the most part most of these are quick edits.
